Introduction
This Handbook provides you with the information needed to
effectively react to emergency situations in our facility.
It also explains how to eliminate fire hazards, conduct
evacuations, and handle medical emergencies.
This handbook addresses such questions as:
·
What steps to follow in the event of an evacuation.
·
Why the facility sometimes has only a partial evacuation.
·
What to do for disabled visitors in a facility and/or employees
present during an evacuation.
·
What steps to follow to eliminate fire hazards.
·
What to do in the event of a bomb threat.
·
What to do in the event of a hostile intruder.
·
How to handle a medical emergency.
·
How to react to a criminal incident or civil unrest.
·
What to do in the event of a power failure.
·
What to do if the elevator malfunctions.
·
How to react to severe weather or a heightened alert.
It is nearly impossible to anticipate all situations that may arise
during an emergency. For
this reason, application of contents of this Handbook will not, at
all times, suffice. If
you have any questions about potential emergency situations not
covered in this Handbook, you should contact the Security Supervisor
or your Supervisor.
